STOCK CAR: LUCAS DOES GREAT RACE, IN spite of DISADVANTAGE
Best rookie of the season in the Brazilian Stock Car Championship, Lucas Di Grassi surprised again by making an impeccable recovery run during the second race of the double round, held this Sunday (4) in Goiânia. The Hero Motorsport driver abandoned the first race after a crash and was therefore forced to start from the pit. With a safe drive and a lot of determination, Di Grassi followed the strategy established by the team, reached the end of the race with tires still in good condition and started a sequence of overtaking that almost took him to the podium. Despite having fewer pushes than his competitors, Lucas finished in fourth place, in one of the most disputed races of the season – the leadership and top positions changed hands several times.
“It was a very exhausting race, because I had to leave the box and when they allowed me to enter the track I already had a straight behind the last place”, remembers the Hero Motorsport driver, who already has three victories in 2018 “I had fewer pushes and on this track that was a serious handicap. I managed to make the overtaking I needed and I narrowly missed the podium. It was a sensational race, one of those that makes me proud of having done”, summarized Di Grassi.
The next stage of the Stock Car will be held in Interlagos, on December 9, with single run and double score.
